Lasik Surgery is a procedure used to correct refractive errors such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia (loss of the ability to see clearly at close distances). The surgery reshapes the cornea, the front surface of the eye, to correct these errors.

The procedure involves creating a thin flap on the cornea, then using an excimer laser to reshape the cornea underneath the flap. Once the flap is put back in place, the cornea has a new curvature that corrects the focusing error. This procedure is fast and recovery takes only a day.

We also offer “Bladeless Lasik” or “Intralase Lasik” or “all laser lasik” which is a more precise procedure than traditional Lasik. Instead of using a mechanical microkeratome to create the corneal flap, it uses a femtosecond laser.

For people with relatively thinner corneas, Trans-PRK is an option, it is a procedure where no flap is raised, but the excimer laser ablation and curvature modification is directly done on the surface of the cornea. It takes a week to heal, but it preserves the virgin cornea by not cutting it.
