ICL or Implantable Collamer Lens, also called Phakic IOL, is an artificial lens that is implanted into the eye in front of the natural lens to correct any focusing errors such as myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism. This procedure is typically performed on patients with refractive errors who desire to get rid of glasses but are not suitable for Lasik.
Refractive Lens Exchange is a procedure similar to cataract surgery, where the natural clear lens in the eye is replaced by an artificial lens that adjusts for any preexisting power in the eye. This is useful for those with hyperopia (plus power) and myopia (minus power) above 40 years of age.
Phakic IOLs (intraocular lenses) are an alternative to LASIK and PRK eye surgery for correcting moderate to severe myopia (nearsightedness) and in some cases, produce better and more predictable vision outcomes than laser refractive surgery. These are clear implantable lenses that are surgically placed either between the cornea and the iris or just behind the iris, without removing the natural lens.
ICL Phakic IOLs (Implantable Collamer lenses) are a type of phakic IOLs which function like contact lenses to correct nearsightedness. They work from within the eye instead of sitting on the surface of the eye and offer permanent correction of myopia, unless the lens is surgically removed. We are one of the best eye hospitals in Hyderabad for Phakic IOL implants, and have built a reputation as a trusted brand in eye care by offering a complete spectrum of sight correction treatments at affordable cost.
